A New School for Kabata, Guinea

By STS | STS Blog | 3 comments | 10 May, 2018 | 6

This spring, School-to-School International and the Alcoa Foundation transformed a temporary school into an established structure in Kabata, Guinea.

“Before the new school, we had five teaching groups confined to two classrooms. It was impossible to move around the class to help the learners. Now, everything will be better with our new spacious classrooms with brand new furniture. We say thank you to STS and the Alcoa Foundation. We ask that the Foundation’s support continues through STS and spares no effort to create good learning conditions for our children.” – Boubacar Diallo, School Principal, Kabata

“We’ve come very far. The Alcoa Foundation offered us a provisional school at a time when some children traveled three kilometers, roundtrip, and others five kilometers every day to study in neighboring villages. Today the new school puts an end to these sufferings for our children and their teachers. A big thank you to the Alcoa Foundation and STS.” – Tandy Bangoura, Sector Lead (local politician)

STS’s work with the Alcoa Foundation is part of the Whole Child Model, which focuses on three areas: education, health, and engagement. In Guinea, we have implemented and tested this model through efforts like activity‑based teaching, girls’ scholarships, improved school sanitation, and parental and community involvement.

    paragraph
to take facts on the topic of my presentation subject matter, which i am going to deliver in academy.
