RISE

Realising Inclusive and Safe Education

Funded by the Scottish Government, the Realising Inclusive and Safe Education (RISE) project strengthens education systems to better support children with disabilities—especially girls—in Malawi, Zambia, and Rwanda.

In Zambia, RISE is the first major project led by School-to-School Zambia Limited (STSZ). As part of a consortium led by Link Education International, STS International provided technical and operational support while intentionally shifting leadership and implementation to STS Zambia—putting localization into practice.

Led by STS Zambia in Central Province, the RISE project focuses on co-designing solutions with communities and government partners; identifying and supporting learners with disabilities through assistive devices and service referrals; strengthening teacher and school leader capacity in inclusive education; engaging parents, school governance bodies, and education authorities; and working with Zambia’s Ministry of Education to advance gender and inclusion within national education standards.
