Learning Assessment Guidance

From November 2023 to February 2024, STS consulted with Save the Children to produce a revised draft of the organization’s Learning Assessment Guidance for Program Evaluations. The Learning Assessment Guidance addresses common challenges to selecting suitable learning assessments for emergency and crisis contexts and discusses preparation for a learning assessments, commonly available tools, and potential uses for assessment results.

To accompany the guidance, STS produced an interactive dashboard for users to explore learning assessments by learning domain, learners’ age range, and previous use in emergency and crisis contexts. Together, these resources are expected to help education programs better assess children’s learning and better respond to their needs during emergencies and crises.
