The International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) implemented a project in the Guji-zone of Ethiopia with the goal of improving retention and learning outcomes in math, science, and English of second-cycle primary school students.
STS was responsible for providing IIRR with a range of programmatic and research support, including review of the project’s theory of change, project design, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning framework. Particularly, STS built capacity of the IIRR team to monitor fidelity of implementation to understand the extent to which their project is implemented as designed and to use data for implementation improvement. STS supported IIRR through in-country and virtual trainings and trained the IIRR team on data entry, cleaning, and analysis, as well as how to interpret and utilize findings.
