Designed in collaboration with key ministry and partner agencies, Bigebose is a five-year project funded by the United States Department of Agriculture through the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program. This is the first ever award for McGovern-Dole International in Burundi. Over five years, Bigebose will deliver a holistic package of activities contributing to improved literacy, health, nutrition and well-being of an estimated 801 preschool and 60,012 primary school children (30,160 girls) in 100 schools in all 7 communes across the Ruyigi province in eastern Burundi.
STS will serve as an external evaluator for the project, utilizing ASER (The Annual Status of Education Report) to conduct the baseline, midline, and endline evaluations. These evaluations will take into account performance indicators set by Catholic Relief Services (CRS).
