For 40 years, Mark Lynd has been a true champion for quality education to improve the lives of children and their communities worldwide. Throughout that time, he has advocated tirelessly for the Whole Child Model—an integrated approach that combines education, health, and community engagement to allow students to thrive. To reflect on Mark’s impact following his retirement as STS’s president in August, STS invites his colleagues and friends to come together to celebrate the legacy he leaves behind and the change he inspired.
Retirement Celebration for Mark Lynd
STS warmly invites Mark’s colleagues and friends to gather in Washington, D.C., on December 6th to honor his remarkable contributions to international development and raise a toast to his well-deserved retirement. The event will feature two illuminating panels: “Nurturing the Whole Child: STS’s Holistic Approach to Education,” which will delve into the transformative impact of the Whole Child Model, and “Empowering Communities: The Global Reach of STS’s Work,” which showcases the profound difference STS has made in nurturing children worldwide.
We also hope to share messages from colleagues worldwide. Regardless of whether you can attend in person, we invite you to share photos, memories, or (best of all) a short video message about Mark’s influence and your connection to his lifetime of work.
