STS worked with the Accelerated Education Working Group (AEWG), comprised of education partners working in accelerated education and led by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to design a monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning framework for accelerated education programs (AEPs). Specifically, STS created, in collaboration with AEWG members, a theory of change for AEPs, a suite of accelerated education-specific indicators, a logical framework, and additional templates.
The goal of this project was to provide guidance to implementers, so they can better measure progress and evaluate success of their AEP, and to standardize MEL processes across AEPs to allow for greater learning across the accelerated education community.
The AEWG is led by the UNHCR and made up of representatives from UNICEF, UNESCO, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Education in Crisis and Conflict Network (ECCN), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Plan International, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Save the Children, and War Child Holland.
