USAID launched the Leveraging Education Assistance Resources in Nigeria (LEARN) to improve early grade reading in the country during a five-year period. LEARN to Read supports sustainable improvements in reading outcomes for pupils in grades 1-3 in select Nigerian States. It aims to increase the percentages of pupils, including marginalized learners, with improved reading outcomes in languages they use and understand.
Working with Creative Associates, STS will provide technical assistance to implement activities related to the project’s four performance objectives. Specifically, STS will Contribute to data systems and dashboard design parameters that captures education system, student reading, and teacher performance and fidelity-of-implementation data, including the development of user guidance and protocols for interpretation and application of data to decision-making. We will also facilitate the development of national EGR assessments system as well as the development of national language-specific minimum reading proficiency standards and benchmarks. Finally, we will support the development, implementation, and quality assurance of the program Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) plan and activities.
Throughout all these activities, STS will work to build and strengthen the capacity of local partners on the work necessary to design, implement, analysis, and report on mixed methods research studies.
