The Queen Rania Foundation (QRF), with its national partner the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, is transferring a reading intervention to Jordan aiming to support literacy. The intervention is based around key insights from cognitive science and perceptual learning. Two models are in development. The first is a targeted intervention aimed at struggling readers in grades one through three. The second, is a whole class intervention at grade one. The pilot and efficacy studies provided key learnings about the approach of both models.
Continuing its work form the pre-pilot phase of the “Let’s Read Fluently!” initiative, STS participated in and contributed to technical advising and feedback. All work was done in tandem with NatCen and its consortium partners during the pilot and efficacy trials of the intervention.
