Nzovwa Banda is the finance and administration director for the USAID Transforming Teacher Education Activity in Zambia. She leads the financial and administrative operations of the project.
Banda previously worked for an international NGO—Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation, an affiliate of the University of Maryland in Baltimore—as a project accountant for three years before transitioning to the role of senior financial advisor on the Zambia Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment (ZAMPHIA) project. Prior to working for Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation, Banda served as a finance officer and then as a project accountant for Zambia Open Community Schools, a Zambian NGO implementing donor-funded education programs whose main beneficiary is the orphan and vulnerable children in Zambia. Before that, she worked for external auditing and accounting firms in Zambia.
Banda is currently pursuing a master’s in development studies. She holds an MBA, BA in business studies, an international diploma in project management, and a ZICA licentiate certificate.
