Mo Schroeder-Sanai is the Chief of Party for the USAID Transforming Teacher Education Activity in Zambia. She is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the activity in Zambia, its staff, and its activities. The objective of Transforming Teacher Education is to strengthen the capacity of Zambia’s pre-service teacher training institutions to improve student learning outcomes in literacy at the primary school level.
Schroeder-Sanai’s career in international development began as a Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho in the mid-90s. Since that time, she has primarily worked for international development organizations, including being based overseas in Kenya, Tanzania, and now Zambia. Schroeder-Sanai has experience managing multimillion-dollar, donor-funded projects in a variety of sectors, such as education, health, rule of law, agriculture, and environment. Schroeder-Sanai has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit and international development project management for social service and justice programs.
Schroeder-Sanai holds a Bachelor of Arts in geography with a specialization in biogeography from San Francisco State University and a Master of Arts in international development from Clark University.
