Kristina Solum is a senior literacy advisor with nearly 20 years of experience in the field of international development education specializing in early grade reading and teacher professional development. She has developed literacy instructional materials, designed and facilitated teacher training, and led national reading assessments in more than 15 countries. She has a special interest in inclusive education and supporting teachers to address the diverse needs of all students in their classrooms.
Solum holds a BA in sociology from Whitworth University and a MA in intercultural studies and TESOL from Wheaton College. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in international education at George Mason University with a focus on early grade reading gains achieved through teacher professional development.
