Kevin Rubio has spent the last 18 years working on social inclusion, state accountability and minority rights promotion in over 30 countries across Africa, Europe and Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and South Asia.
He currently serves as the Deputy Director for the International Research and Exchanges Board’s (IREX) Communities and Governance Unit and is based out of Washington D.C. Rubio’s clients have included the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Department of State. Rubio’s work with other international organizations includes Partners for Democratic Change, World Learning and TetraTech DPK. His interest in and support of STS International and its mission to transform education and school health in developing countries stems from formative experiences early in his career managing youth service-learning programs in Watsonville and Santa Cruz counties in California and as a Peace Corps Urban Youth Development Specialist working with at-risk youth in Costa Rica.
Rubio holds an MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and a BA in Philosophy from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
