Nachtsheim’s interest in working to support education in developing countries was sparked in high school when she helped build a primary school in Mali. During college, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Dakar, Senegal, immersing herself in the French language and volunteering with children with special needs. After graduation, Nachtsheim pursued her interests in the French language and in education by serving as a teaching assistant in Guadeloupe, France. Later, she initiated an independent project to set up a solar-powered computer center at a school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. There she developed an interest in using data to more effectively manage international development project logistics and measure their results.
Nachtsheim earned a Bachelor of Art at Lewis and Clark College in international affairs & French studies.
