Fanny Nkunika is a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for the USAID Strengthening Teacher Education and Practice Activity (STEP) in Malawi.
Nkunka has 16 years of work experience in monitoring and evaluation. She worked as a monitoring, evaluation, and learning advisor for Abt Associates for a USAID-funded project dealing with early-grade literacy. She has also worked for the Technical Entrepreneurial, Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) in Malawi for eight years as a planning, monitoring, and evaluation specialist. Nkunika also worked as a global monitoring, evaluation, and learning manager for Grassroot Soccer, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prior to that, Nkunika supported a Swedish-funded project on “Social Accountability in Health and Agriculture in Southern Africa.”
Nkunika holds a master’s degree in management (public and development sector) and a post-graduate diploma in the public and development sector (with distinction) from the University of Witwatersrand. She also holds a bachelor of commerce degree (honors) in organizational psychology from the University of Cape Town and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa-Kenya.
