The pen pal program has been suspended for the 2015-16 school year. We hope to reinstate the program next year. In past years, the pen pal program has provided students with the opportunity to build friendships across borders. The exchange of letters allows students to build greater knowledge of the world around them. They have the opportunity to learn about a different society, culture, landscape, and daily routines and responsibilities.
Since 2003, over 1,000 students have taken part in pen pal exchanges in the US and Guinea.
• Who? Our program is designed for elementary school students.
• When? Each school year there is two rounds of letters. Each student will send two letters and receive two letters.
• Where? Students in North America or Europe exchange letters with students from our partner schools in Guinea, West Africa.
